Pom pom making

One of the essential toys needed for a developmental assessment would be a red pom pom. It is for a visual assessment for infants-to check whether a baby can fix and follow. It is not something that you can buy from any toy stores and I have always been meaning to make one myself for months.

So yesterday, I decided to make it.

Thank you, youtube for the tutorial!

Step 1. Make 2 doughnuts from a cardboard.

Step 2. Wind the yarn around it many many times.

Step 3. Cut through the loops of yarn.

Step 4. Tie around it to secure.

Step 5. Done!

Today I was rummaging through my mum's stuff in her room and I found this....

..
Of course! Such perfect timing..

An evening with Aniq

I look forward to going home everyday after work just to spend some time with my sons.

Boys-the need to do some outdoor activity everyday just to get those energy out from their system. This is to ensure that he and also ourselves, will get a good nights sleep..

Adib at 4 months

Pejam celik, it has already been 4 months since I gave birth to my second son, and one month of going back to work.
Adib can now roll over, but one of his arms will be stuck under him everytime he does it. I am happy with his progress, and he is way more advanced compared to Aniq at this stage, even after I deduct 2 months from Aniq's actual age, in view of his prematurity.
Alhamdullilah, my milk supply is still consistent and it is sufficient or at times, even more than what he needs.
Aniq loves Adib more than ever, and he will kiss and stroke Adib whenever he has the chance. He even names and points various parts on Adib's face almost everyday. Am sure Adib will be a fast learner soon!
Hope their good relationship will last for eternity..

Alone time

Aahh..a much needed break.
Am now enjoying my cup of ice cream alone, while waiting for my husband to come n pick me up after he's done with his appt.

Heading to the driving range afterwards.

I do love my sons very much, but it's nice to have a break like this once in a while..

Gemersik Kalbu

Ever since I've been staying with my in-laws after I got married, I hardly watch any TV shows, except for the news, as they are always watching Malay dramas-a genre that I could never watch in the past. But then, after some time, I started watching TV together with them on and off as part of being together as a family. Malay Drama pon layankan je lah..

Towards the end of my pregnancy, I didn't have to have to do any calls, hence I get to go home at 5 pm sharp everyday. I then started watching this show called Gemersik Kalbu which airs at 7pm on Mondays to Thursdays.

I didn't enjoy the storyline initially, but since I have started watching the show right from Episode 1, I just had to continue watching it to know what's going to happen next. My anticipation ensured me to be in front of the TV set at 7pm sharp. Before I knew it, I was hooked.

I initially hated the main characters of the drama and I found Sufian being such a jerk. But after he and Raihana got married, he repented and became a much better person and husband. I then started liking his character and enjoyed seeing how hard he tries to make his marriage work. He's funny, cheeky, and romantic too. Somehow I feel that Aqasha, who plays Sufian might just be like his character in real life.

Aqasha is also the singer and composer of the soundtrack, Obsesiku. After listening to the song repeatedly in the show, I have begun to love it.

I never liked Raihana's character and I wish that the actress had been someone else. She hardly smiled and in most of the scenes she just looked so stiff.

I can't believe that I'm writing an entry about this drama, but it shows that I'm already missing it. Some fans even uploaded the good scenes on youtube.

Guess we just have to see the next drama that will air on TV3 next week. Something to look forward to..

Brotherly love

One of my concerns before giving birth to my second child was how Aniq would react to his younger brother. Will he cry when he sees us carrying our baby? Will he be angry when the baby sleeps in his cot? Will he realise that he will get less attention than he used to?

I felt very much relieved after I got home from the hospital. He accepts and loves his brother dearly right from day one, without even a small hint of jealousy. Hope this will remain for the upcoming years..

Aniq greets Adib when we got home from the hospital

Aniq: Ok, it's your cot now..

Aniq: Well, I may want to share this cot with you from time to time..

Love you, Adib!

New Fridge

Got a new fridge yesterday. Yay! Thanks Mum.

The main purpose of having this fridge is to stock up my expressed breastmilk. Aim is to have at least 100 bottles/bags of milk, filled with 4-5oz of milk per bottle, before I start work. Hubby asked me to aim for 150, but we'll see how it goes..

Can't wait to fill up the fridge with all the tidbits, i.e. juices, biscuits, chocolates, yogurts, fruits, etc. But all this has to wait until after my confinement, coz the temptation will just be too great for me!
