Yes!

I met up with my ex-classmate today, who is currently working at Ipoh Hospital. The last time we met was over a year back and there were tonnes of stuff for us to catch up on. After having Sushi, we decided to watch a movie.

I was given me a choice between Yes Man, Ip Man and Cicak Man 2...Haha, obviously I went for the first one.

The story is about this guy who became depressed after his wife left him, and his life went downhill from there. He's always hiding in his apartment, not wanting to hangout with his friends anymore, and stuck in the same job for years. It was until one day, on old friend of his urged him to join this seminar which asks its participants to say Yes to every oppurtunity that they had. His life changed after that.

I had fun watching the movie! I wouldn't give 5 stars for it, but the jokes that they had were good enough for me to laugh out loud multiple times! Jim Carrey was perfect for the role.

Moral of the story: Life is short. Live life to the fullest.

Trailers

I was surfing the net today and came across a few interesting trailers..Check them out.

1. Changeling:
Starring: Angelina Jolie, Amy Ryan, John Malkovich

--> I just love the trailer. I'm sure the movie is gonna be great.

2. Bride Wars:
Starring: Kate Hudson, Anne Hathaway

--> I was attracted by the main casts initially, but I upon watching the trailer, it wasn't as good as what I had expected. They showed a few slapstick jokes here and there. Will only watch the movie I'm in the mood for a chick flick.

3. The Pink Panther 2
Starring: Steve Martin, Jean Reno

--> This one is something that I must much. I laughed so hard when I watched the 1st movie! Guess it was because Steve Martin can look so natural when it comes to acting stupid. He was perfect for the role. I'm really hope that the sequel will be just as good or even better!

Get Smart

Saw this movie at GSC The Gardens, Mid Valley last night. RM 20 for a seat? Was it worth it? The seat was really comfortable, no doubt about that. Extra space, reclining seat, and able to lift up the arm rest..a lil bit too comfortable I would say..ALMOST felt like I was sitting on my couch back home.

The movie was great! I never watched the old tv series, so I can't compare Steve Carrell with the the dude who was in original Get Smart, i.e. Don Adams. Watch this movie if you feel like having a good laugh.

What I watched this week

Such a violent movie..Don't think any girl would enjoy watching this one..

Saw this one for Hayden Christensen..They storyline was ok, I assume the book would have been much better. Wished that the Hayden and Rachel Bilson had more chemistry..

Sweeney Todd

I'm not a fan of horror movies but I watched this one today for Johnny Depp.
I've got three words to describe this movie: Gory! Gory! Gory!
Unless if you're a fan of throat slitting, blood gushing and carnibalism, you will not enjoy sitting through this movie. I was covering my eyes most of the time coz it was too painful to watch.

And the ending..oh my, not something that i would to remember before I sleep tonight.
Think twice before watching this movie, trust me.

The Game Plan

I have been looking forward in watching The Game Plan since I saw the trailer a couple of months back. Disney movies have always been well received; the movies will have a happy ending with good moral values slid in between.
I was surprised with The Rock, i.e. Dwayne Johnson's performance. He was rather stiff in his previous movies: The Scorpion King and Walking Tall, and never showed much emotion. In this particular movie, he acted as a leader, team player and father really well. I did not expect him to pull off the dad role as brilliant as what he did.
Another thing that shocked me was his talent to sing. You just have to check out his voice. OMG..it sent shivers down my spine.
As for Madison Pettis, the girl that played as Peyton Kelly, i.e. his daugher, I found her annoying initially. She was obviously more matured for her age and yet she was carrying a doll wherever she went. Towards the middle of the show, I saw the potential in her in acting. She was perfect for the part.
I'm giving 4 stars for this awesome movie~~

The Golen Compass

Thought that I'll be interesting to review a movie in my blog instead of just writing about myself..

Saw this movie on Sunday with a good friend of mine at Sunway Pyramid. I never read the book and I'm not a fan of fantasy stories anyway..Thought that it would be a good idea to watch the movie since it's such a big hype in the papers and internet.

The movie is adapted from the best selling novel with the same name (released in North America) as known as Northern Lights in other countries, written in 1995 by an English writer Philip Pullman as the first part of “His Dark Materials” trilogy - another two titles in the trilogy are The Subtle Knife (published in 1997) and The Amber Spyglass (published in 2000)

In my opinion the best part about the movie was Nicole Kidman. She potrayed the character of Ms Coulter magnificiently, being able to charm the main character Lyra in the initial part of the movie, and later became evil towards the middle. Despite being the villain in the story, she still maintained her elegance. I just love watching the dresses that she wore in the movie.

I was expecting more of Daniel Craig in the movie but he was only in a few short scenes...Probably there'll be more of him the in sequel..

2 movies

I watched two movies yesterday. At the cinema, not on dvd, mind you! Need to grab the oppurtunity before I start work in 2 weeks time..

Watched the first movie with my sister in the afternoon. Should have watched this one much earlier, but only had the chance yesterday. It was my sister's second time watching it and the first one for me.

It was a great movie overall. Loved the dance moves and music, and the casts were talented. My personal favourite was Zac Efron..Ya, i know he's young and all but his eyes are his best feature...:)

Later that night, i watched another movie with a friend of mine. I've actually seen this movie earlier but it was my friend's first time. The movie was full of X rated jokes, and I'm surprised why our local censorship actually allowed this movie to be aired here. Probably coz they only focused on the visual bit.

Adam Sandler was perfect for the part, and I had a couple good laughs watching this one. My favourite scene was when there were in court, towards the end of the show. They were best of friends and sounded so gay at the same time.

Jessica Biel was super hot in this movie, but too bad she's not a good actress.
